The Pacific Junior Hockey League announced today that Port Moody Panthers forward Tyson Tilley is the recipient of the 2019-20 Most Improved Player Award.
The native of Langley was acquired by the Panthers from Ridge Meadows on September 28 and went on a tear that saw him post five goals and 15 assists in 32 games. This came after he had just one assist in seven games with the Flames.
Tilley, 19, had more than twice as many points this past season than he did in 2018-19 and doubled his overall points-per-game ratio. Two of his five goals came on the power play and he recorded six multi-point games.
This is the second straight year that a Panthers player has won a PJHL award as Matthew Trulsen was the recipient of the league's Most Inspirational Player for the 2018-19 season.
