Panthers' Pentecost joins the WHL's Vancouver Giants

Port Moody Panthers

The Port Moody Panthers announced today that defenseman Brenden Pentecost has joined the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League for their 2020-21 season.

Pentecost, 17, was the Giants 6th round pick, 126th overall, in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft. The 6'1", 161 lbs. blueliner played all eight Panthers games this season.

"I am super excited to be joining my hometown Vancouver Giants for the upcoming WHL season," said Pentecost.

He had one assist with the Panthers before games were paused in November due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We were really impressed with Brenden's ability to take the fine details from practice and apply them almost instantly in the next game he played," said Panthers head coach Terry Morrison. "We are extremely happy for him to continue his journey with the Giants. He was a pleasure to have as part of our organization and we look forward to watching him succeed in the WHL."

Pentecost, who hails from Surrey, BC, notched a goal and eight assists in 36 games with Delta Hockey Academy U18 Prep in 2019-20.

"I would like to thank the Panthers for the opportunity to practice and play games during this unusual season," added Pentecost. "I enjoyed my time with Port Moody and wish we could have played more games before the shutdown."
