Goaltender Mason Dunsford, who played in Port Moody during the 2019-20 season, was dealt in the Western Hockey League from the Tri-City Americans to the Portland Winterhawks on Wednesday in exchange for a conditional fifth-round pick in the 2023 WHL Prospect Draft.
The 6-foot-1 native of New Westminster, BC played five games in Port Moody to start the 2019-20 season before joining the Americans full time in January 2020. Dunsford's goals-against-average of 3.77 was the best among all goaltenders who played for the Panthers that season.
He is tied for 12th all-time in Panthers franchise save percentage (among goalies who played five or more games) at .889 and ninth in goals-against-average at 3.77.
During the 2020-21 WHL season, Dunsford went 0-5 with a 5.30 goals-against-average and an .857 save percentage in seven appearances with the Americans.
