The Beaver Valley Nitehawks scored six goals en route to their birth in the gold medal game with a 6-2 win over the tournament host, Creston Valley ThunderCats. Kyle Hope was the hero for the Nitehawks scoring a hattrick and picking up player of the game honors for his team.
Both teams came out flying in the first period, but neither Cats goalie Brock Lefebvre or Hawks goalie Tallon Kramer let any rubber pass and it was scoreless after the first 20 minutes.
Beaver Valley's Hope scored his first of the game to break the deadlock and put the KIJHL champions up 1-0. It wasn't long after that Hawks defenseman McKoy Hauck added to that lead and the Cats were down 2-0 hald way through the game.
A Beaver Valley turnover would prove costly as the Cats' Jonathan Lee wired a slapshot over the shoulder of Kramer for Creston's first goal of the game.
Kyle Hope scored his second of the night and the eventual game winner just one minute into the final frame. Tyler Ghiradosi and Dylan Kent would pad that lead and the Hawks were up 5-1 with six minutes remaining.
Michael Spenrath stopped the bleeding with three minutes to go, but Hope buried his hat trick goal into an empty cage and Beaver Valley punched their ticket to the gold medal.
