Two teams that had a lengthy rest, Aldergrove Kodiaks and hosts Creston Valley Thunder Cats, faced off in game two of the Cyclone Taylor Cup. Each team had something to prove in their opening match of the tournament.
After a scoreless first period, Sebastian Kilcommons of the Creston Valley Thunder Cats opened the scoring in the second with an individual effort short-handed goal.
The T-Cats continued their impressive penalty kill, as Liam Plunkett added another short-handed goal as he was left alone in front of Kodiaks Dawson Rodin.
The T-Cats would hold on to win 2-0 over the Kodiaks.
Brock Lefebvre turned aside 27 shots to earn the shutout in front of 703 ecstatic home crowd fans, earning him the first star. Rodin made 36 saves in the loss for second star. Aidan Wong earned the third star for his helper on the second goal of the game.
