Day two of the Cyclone Taylor cup started off with a tough and physical battle between the KIJHL champion Beaver Valley Nitehawks and the PJHL's Aldergrove Kodiaks. The Yaks managed to out hustle and put hit the Hawks en route to a 5-3 win, but it did not come easy.
Beaver Valley's Mitch Foyle started off the scoring on a powerplay just four minutes into the first period.
Then it was Jacob De Waal who answered back for the Kodiaks. De Waal had himself a two-goal game, a performance which earned him the 'Player Of The Game' award for his team. The Kodiaks weren't done there, just minutes later Davin Padgham gave his team the lead, makign it 2-1.
Halfway through the middle frame Quinncy Leroux scored Aldergrove's third goal of the game, giving them a two goal lead.
Ryan Terpsma responded for Beaver Valley on a two-man advantage going fivehole on Kodiaks goaltender Dawson Rodin to get the Nitehawls back to within one.
De Waal scored his second of the game just two minutes into the final period restoring his team's two-goal lead, but the Hawks would put pressure on the Kodiaks by answering with a goal of their own from McKoy Hauck with seven minutes remaining.
Beaver Valley pressured Aldergrove relentlessly for the final few minutes before Elijah Vilio would tally his first of the tournament into an empty cage giving the Kodiaks the 5-3 voctory,
