The KODIAK Melbourne Mustangs are the fourth team to qualify for a place in the 2018 AIHL Finals, after a 3-2 victory over the Sydney Ice Dogs at Macquarie Ice Rink on Sunday evening. This marks the first time in club history that the Mustangs will be in the finals two years in a row.
The Mustangs will be taking on first placed CBR Brave, who beat the Melbourne Ice twice in the weekend to set a new league record for wins and points.
The Mustangs have split the regular season series with the Brave 2-2, with a pair of home and away wins each. The Mustangs are the only team to beat the Brave twice this year, with fellow finalists the Sydney Bears and Perth Thunder also beating the team from the capital once each.
