Beer and Ice Hockey. Is there a better combination?

In 2019, the Agile Group Adelaide Adrenaline ice hockey will be perfectly paired with delicious tastes of Big Shed Brewing Concern. 

It's a match made in heaven - a craft beer for a "craft sport". Big Shed will have various products on sale at all Adrenaline home games this season, including their exhibition game on April 13 vs. the SA All-Stars. 

Co-owner Craig Basford says they jumped at the opportunity to support the Adrenaline and bring the fun tastes of Big Shed to ice hockey in South Australia.

"In the five years of Big Shed's life, we have always tried to help our local teams where we can," he says. "We have a special love for sports that aren't as well known in SA. We find their community of support much like our own in craft beer. The opportunity to get involved with the Adrenaline, a team on the national stage with a loyal following, was too good to pass up."

Big Shed are already big hits among beer lovers in Adelaide and across Australia. They have a rolling range of product and always have something for everyone - from those who are new to craft beer and some of the more seasoned veterans.

Adrenaline committee member - but more importantly diehard ice hockey fan - Ben Hoggan says he is pleased a brewer like Big Shed has joined the team. 

"Ice hockey already has the best live atmosphere in sport and it's important to offer our fans and community the best environment we can. The beer and the personality around it plays a key part. Big Shed is a lot of fun and I think that's reflected in the beer and the people. It's going to take our game day to the next level," he says.

"If you've never tried Big Shed before I think you'll really enjoy it and those who have know that this is a big deal for the game day. 

If you're looking Craig's favourite beer, his answer is simple.

"Our favourite beer is always the next one. It's so situational, so to say definitively is madness. The most confusing beer we make - and probably the one we are best known for - is the Golden Stout Time. It's a dessert stout made to taste like Golden Gaytime Ice Cream."

Big Shed, much like ice hockey, is all about having fun. 

"We're different in that we are prepared to give anything a go and bring a sense of fun to what we do. We make the best beer we can, but we never take ourselves too seriously. We're even working on a secret project with the Adrenaline. We can't say too much but we think the teams, players, and fans will get a kick out of it," says Craig. 

If you've never tried Big Shed's range this weekend is a perfect opportunity. The club will be selling Big Shed all season long at the Adrenaline games. 

Big Shed is located at Royal Park and open from Wednesday through Sunday for beers, burgers and shenanigans. They'll even pop the Adrenaline game on TV!
