This year’s Heritage Round gave us an opportunity to reflect on the proud history of our clubs, hear stories about the club’s founders and the hard work they put in to creating the Avalanche. We reflected on the sacrifice and commitment and the amazing community that grew around it.
This flame of passion burnt brightly in the 2017 season, even though the on-ice results were not there. We saw countless examples of commitment and engagement like the creation of the Junkies Cheer Squad, fans traveling to watch the team on the road, VIP room watch parties, post game celebrations, the fervour of the Heritage Round and the jersey bidding war that followed, fans banding together to sponsor players and fan-initiated fundraisers.
It’s clear that our club’s existence relies on everyone involved – not just the players, coaching staff and committee. The fans, volunteers and ticket holders make it all happen.
And season 2018 is just around the corner…
…that’s why we are hosting the first ever Adrenaline Forum.
On Thursday 7 December, club president Eric Balnar will be hosting an open club forum at the IceArenA to give a snapshot of where the club stands, where the club needs assistance and how you can help. We also want to hear from you: what do you want to see next season? What are your dreams and goals for our Adrenaline in 2018?
'Club' means anyone involved with the team. Whether you are a player, run the twitter account, watch from the stands, volunteer at the gate, stream the games online, have been involved for years or have never been involved at all, we want you there and we want to hear from you.
Running the Adrenaline is one of the biggest challenges and one of the most rewarding experiences. It takes an active, proud community, to make it happen.
We will run an overview of the organisation and we want to hear from you if you have any interest in the following departments:
- Committee and Governance
- Playing
- Hockey Operations
- Finance
- Fundraising
- Sponsorship
- Fan Engagement
- Marketing
- Media
If you've always wanted to leave a mark on a hockey team, now is your chance. We'd love to see you, have a beer and talk to you about how you can help. Even if you’re not sure if or how you can play a role, we want you to join us for the forum so you can share ideas and maybe even find a part that you, with your unique skills and experience, can play.
Please RSVP to Eric Balnar at ericbalnar@gmail.com by Friday 1 December to register your interest. There's no involvement too big or small and it all starts here.
