The Sydney Ice Dogs have a busy weekend ahead of them. On Saturday they face the first placed Melbourne Ice followed by their final meeting with the CBR Brave on Sunday night.
 

ICE DOGS VS. ICE
All time record: 15-32-7-1 (12-13-4-0 at home; 7-19-3-1 on the road)

Saturday's game is the final of four meetings between the Ice Dogs and Ice. The first time the two teams met this season, on July 23^rd, the Ice Dogs took down the first placed Ice in a fast paced and physical game, by a score of 4-3. However, the last time the two teams met the Ice Dogs ultimately fell to the Ice by a score of 2-4.
 

ICE DOGS VS. BRAVE

All-Time: 21-26-1-5 (12-7-1-3 at home; 9-19-0-2 on the road)

Sunday's game will be the final meeting between the Ice Dogs and Brave, and the second of two meetings between the teams at Macquarie Ice Rink. The Ice Dogs defeated the Brave, 4-2, in the last meeting on August 5^th in Canberra. Grant Toulmin, Scott Stephenson, Strat Allen, Todd Stephenson and Stephen Johnston have all registered at least two points thus far in the season series, and three of those players (Toulmin, S. Stephenson, Allen) have scored in more than one of those games. Grant Toulmin has also registered at least one point in every game against the Brave this season.

The Ice Dogs have won two of their last four games against the Brave, dating back to Aug. 20, 2016. In addition, the Brave were defeated in their last game, by the Melbourne Ice, 6-3.

WHO’S HOT

• Grant Toulmin has registered 37 points over the season including 20 goals and two hat tricks, the first coming against the Newcastle Northstars and again in July against the Perth Thunder. He heads the Ice Dogs in goals (20) and points (37) this season and in addition ties second in the AIHL in goals and ranks 12^th in points amassed.
   
• Damien Ketlo has posted a 10-14-0 record, along with a 2.64 goals against average (GAA), a 0.925 save percentage (SV%), and 2 shutouts in 24 games in 2017. Ketlo has also faced the most shots of any goaltender in the league at 840.
   
• Andrew White scored the Ice Dogs only goal against the Mustangs on Saturday as he continues his strong play.

• Dave Upton will miss his 19^th game due to injury

• After missing 15 games with a lower body injury, veteran forward Billy Cliff has returned to the line up.

UPCOMING GAMES

Following this weekend, the Ice Dogs will play the North Stars for a final time on August 26^th in Newcastle and then the Mustangs for a final time on August 27^th at Macquarie Ice Rink. The two games will mark the end of the regular season for the Ice Dogs.
