Trinity Western University forward Evan Last is the ANYTHING BRANDED Player of the Week for the week ending March 11th.
The second-year forward came up huge for the Spartans in their first-round sweep of the University of Victoria, picking up six points in a pair of games.
The Surrey native opened the weekend with a goal and three assists in an 8-1 road win. Last's goal gave the Spartans a 3-0 lead as TWU broke the game open with three goals in the final 2:27 of the second period. He added three assists in the third period as Trinity Western showed the firepower that made it the highest scoring team during the season.
On Saturday, the 23-year-old Swan Valley Stampeders graduate scored with six minutes left in the first period as TWU battled back from a 2-0 deficit. He then assisted on a Dustin Deugau goal with just over seven minutes left in the second period to cut the Vikes lead to 3-2. Last now has five goals and six assists in seven career BCIHL playoff games.
Runners up for this week's award include Trinity Western University forwards Jarrett Fontaine and Jordan Rendle, Selkirk College forward Logan Styler, Vancouver Island University forward Kobe Oishi and University of Victoria goaltender Zack Wear.
