Selkirk College forward Derek McPhail is the BCIHL Anything Branded Player of the Week for the week ending October 15th.
The 20-year-old first year player led the Saints' offence during a two-game home-and-home sweep against Eastern Washington University, picking up three goals and an assist in two games.
On Friday, the Kamanistiquia, ON native scored once in each period, including the winning goal early in the first period, as Selkirk thumped EWU 7-0. On Saturday, McPhail had an assist on Derek Georgeopoulos' game-winning, power play goal with 1:39 to go in the third period as the Saints nipped the Eagles 3-2 for their third straight win to start the 2017-18 season.
McPhail's five goals is tops in the BCIHL while his six points in three games has him second in league scoring, one point back of teammate Dallas Calvin.
Runners up for this week's Anything Branded POW award include Calvin, Vancouver Island University forward Garrett Dunlop and Eastern Washington University goaltender Austin Brihn.
