500 and Counting

The journey of triumph, marked by perseverance, dedication, sheer determination, and an organizational commitment to excellence has led the St. Clair Saints organization to a remarkable milestone – 500 victories. In this commemorative article, we delve into the significance of this achievement, reflecting on the relentless pursuit of excellence that has defined this path.

The Windsor AKO Fratmen may no longer exist however their accomplishments have left a lasting legacy in the CJFL …33 first-place finishes, 21 Ontario Championships, 4 National titles and the only junior football team to be enshrined in the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.  Adding to the Fratmen’s accomplishments, the transition to the St. Clair Saints has continued this winning tradition with the Saints capturing 4 first place finishes and 3 Ontario Football Conference Championships. The 2025 season marks the 80th year of play in junior football for the Fratmen-Saints organization which is the longest serving organization in Junior Football in Canada.

In accomplishing their 500th all-time win comes with it an opportunity to defend their 2024 National Championship which would not have been done since Saskatoon in 2018/2019 The players and coaches may be different, the colours may have changed from Black and Gold to Yellow and Green but the singular commitment to the team and the goal of winning always remains the same.

Beginning with victory #1 under the Fratmen’s first coach Johnny Murray to the most recent victory under coach Mike LaChance every win tells a story of resilience and resolve. From the early days of the AKO Fraternity’s humble beginnings to the present progress under the St. Clair banner, each triumph has been a testament to the unwavering commitment of the team to winning. Whether on the field, in the locker room, in the classroom, or in the community every victory has been hard-earned and richly deserved.

Along the way, challenges have been encountered that have tested the organization’s mettle and setbacks have threatened to derail the team’s progress. Yet, in the face of adversity, its’ members found strength in unity and inspiration in their shared goals. Every defeat has taught invaluable lessons, shaping the organization into stronger, more resilient competitors.

As current Saints and former Fratmen and Saints alumni celebrate this momentous accomplishment, remembering the many memories along the way, the Ontario Football Conference and the Canadian Junior Football League would like to congratulate and thank the countless individuals who have contributed to the success of this organization. To the coaches, players, volunteers, fans and supporters, each of you has played a vital role in setting the standard for excellence. The Fratmen/Saints organization has forged a legacy of excellence that continues to endure.

The journey does not end at 500, it simply serves as a springboard for even greater triumphs yet to come.
