Adelaide Adrenaline announce Kaden Elder as Head Coach

Adelaide Adrenaline announce Kaden Elder as Head Coach

Ryan Whitford

The Adelaide Adrenaline have today announced that Kaden Elder has taken on the role of head coach, effective immediately. Elder arrived this season as an import player and has 14 goals and 9 assists in 15 games played. He has established himself as a leader amongst the players and has a wealth of experience playing in the Western Hockey League and for the University of Calgary.

Adrenaline General Manager Glen Foll has expressed his support for Elder taking on the coaching position.

“Kaden has shown strong leadership qualities both on and off the ice since arriving in Adelaide. With a history of playing for successful teams at a very high level, I’m confident that under Elders direction the club will be able to push for a playoff appearance.”

Elder has had a successful start in his new role, with the team having won three of it’s past four games. His contribution on the ice has also been exceptional with Elder scoring 8 goals during these games.

With the club now only 2 points out of a playoff position and games in hand on all teams within the Rurak Conference, Elder will now be tasked with the challenge of seeing the Adrenaline return to the AIHL playoffs for the first time since 2012.

Coaching Update: Stu Henly
After two seasons behind the bench, Henly and the club have parted ways. Henly joined the club at the beginning of 2023 and has guided the playing group through a challenging period of returning to the Australian Ice Hockey League after a three-year hiatus.

“Stu has been an integral part of our organisation since the club returned after the pandemic”, said General Manager Glen Foll, “He has dedicated countless hours into the development of the playing group and will remain a valued member of the Adrenaline community. I wish him all the best going forward.”

In addition to the work he has done on the Adrenaline bench, Henly remains a dedicated coach of IHSA junior hockey.
