Cheney, Wash. -- The Eastern Washington Eagles are excited to announce the signing of Israeli-born forward, Tom Ignatovich, who currently plays for the Seattle Totems in the Western State Hockey League.
Ignatovich, born in Haifa, Israel, has spent time playing internationally with the Israeli 18u and 20u teams. He will take part in the World Junior Championships Division III tournament at the end of this month. The 5’8” 154lb Center will bring along a strong faceoff game as well as the ability to use his body to effectively control play.
“Tom is a highly skilled player who excels in the faceoff circle, and he’s a guy that isn’t afraid to get into the dirty areas of the ice and make things happen for the team” said Associate Head Coach John Strait, adding “Tom is a great kid who will bring strong character to our dressing room and will complement our returning players in 2018. Coach Greenwell and myself are looking forward to integrating Tom into our team and getting him in an Eagles uniform.”
In his time in junior hockey, Ignatovich, has earned 67 points over 72 games including a team leading 25 goals through 30 games this season. Tom Will join the Eagles for the 2018/19 season.
The EWU BCIHL Eagles are a collegiate club hockey program that play their games at the EWU URC in Cheney, Washington and play in the 6-team British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League.
