Announcements of players advancing to higher levels continues to come.
Liam McLaren of the Summerland Steam is committed to Drayton Valley in the Alberta Junior Hockey League. The Kaleden, B.C. product boosted his offensive totals (12 goals, 22 points in 49 games) from his rookie season in which he put up four points in 34 games. There is a possibility of other Steam players advancing, but nothing is official yet.
A Posse is making its way to the junior A and college level. Azam Jiwa will join the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Notre Dame Hounds, while Ethan Schmor is headed to the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s OCN Blizzard.
"He's a dynamic forward," Posse coach Mark McNaughton said of Schmor. "He's a guy that loves having the puck. We think he's ready now to produce at the next level. We're happy to see him getting that opportunity."
On Jiwa: "He's as fast as anybody in our league. He works his butt off. He's a guy that if he goes in and gets an offensive opportunity, I think he will do well."
Jordan Popoff and Quin Garrison will remain teammates with Jamestown University in the American Collegiate Hockey Association.
