TCats & Bisons Heading To Edmonton For Junior Prep Showcase May 11-13

The Creston Valley Thunder Cats and Okotoks Bisons are pleased to announce that the teams have once again partnered to hold a Junior Prep Showcase in Edmonton, Alberta from May 11th to 13th, 2018.

The camp is open to all players born between 1998 and 2003. It will include four games and an exit interview with Thunder Cats and Bisons coaches. The cost of the camp is $175 for skaters and $200 for goaltenders.

All sessions will take place at the Clareview Recreation Centre in Edmonton, AB.

"We're looking forward to coming back to Edmonton in May and working with the Bisons to hold another camp for players from Northern Alberta," says Thunder Cats head coach and general manager Brad Tobin. "Our camp in Edmonton last May was a huge success and traditionally some of our top players have come from the area."

Current Thunder Cats forwards Bryce Sturm, Austin Canete and Darby Berg, as well as blueliners Colten Witter and Dylan Rantucci were identified and committed to by Creston coaches at previous camps in Edmonton, while 2016 KIJHL goals leader Carson Cartwright was recruited from nearby Whitecourt.

Alberta has been prime recruiting territory for the Thunder Cats in recent years. This past season a grand total of 20 players -- nearly 90% of the team's roster -- hailed from the province.

For the 2018/19 season, Alberta residents born in 2000 or earlier are eligible to play junior hockey in British Columbia. Younger players who are interested in being evaluated by junior-level coaches for future seasons are also welcome.
