TCats & Bisons To Return To Calgary For Junior Prep Showcase

The Creston Valley Thunder Cats and Okotoks Bisons are pleased to announce that the teams have once again partnered to hold a Junior Prep Showcase in Calgary, Alberta from May 18th to 20th, 2018.

The camp is open to all players born between 1998 and 2003. It will include four games and an exit interview with Thunder Cats and Bisons coaches. The cost of the camp is $175 for skaters and $200 for goaltenders.

All sessions will take place at the Trico Centre in Calgary, AB.

"We're looking forward to returning to Calgary in May and partnering with the Bisons for what has become a very popular and highly competitive camp," says Thunder Cats head coach and general manager Brad Tobin. "Last season we committed to a total of nine players from this camp who became key contributors on our 2017/18 roster."

That group includes forwards Conor Monaghan, Carson Small, Dylan Rantucci and Dawson McGuire, plus defencemen Callum McGhee, Jake McGhee, Kason Furukawa, Jack McArdle and Colten Witter.

Alberta -- and Calgary, specifically -- have been prime recruiting territory for the Thunder Cats in recent years. This past season a total of 12 players hailed from Calgary while 8 others came to the Creston Valley from elsewhere in the province.

For the 2018/19 season, Alberta residents born in 2000 or are eligible to play junior hockey in British Columbia. Younger players who are interested in being evaluated by junior-level coaches for future seasons are also welcome.
