Posse Take Chiefs To Double OT
The Princeton Posse hosted Kelowna Chiefs September 15th in Princeton Arena. They had a 2-0 record going into the match and scored first at 16:24 of the first period. Philippe Lam got the goal with Drew Carter earning an assist. The Posse made it 2-0 shortly after the first goal when Linden Gove popped one in at 15:44. Assists went to Chad Kimmie and Dawson Jenner.
Kelowna responded on the power play at 13:33. Brody Dale narrowed the Posse lead with a goal he had help on from Brett Witala and Isaac Dutka.
The second period saw Princeton leap ahead once again. It was a power play goal scored at 18:23 that did it. Drew Carter scored it with assistance from Ethan Schmor. Kelowna answered at 9:59 with a power play goal of their own. Logan Archer got the credit. Assists went to Myles Mattila and Lane Paddison.
After two periods the Chiefs had narrowly out shot Princeton 23-21 and the Posse had a narrow lead of 3-2 on the scoreboard.
The Chiefs tied it up at 7:00 in the final frame. Brody Dale got the marker with Lane Paddison and Landon Kitchen each collecting assists. There was no further scoring during regulation time which pushed the match into overtime.
The first overtime 5-minute period flew by and it was shortly after the second OT started – at 4:39 – that Kelowna sealed the win with a power play goal scored by Brody Dale. Isaac Dutka and Juanre Naude received assists.
Final Score: Kelowna 4, Princeton 3 OT2. Shots on Goal: Kelowna 43, Princeton 39.
Princeton’s next home game is Friday, September 22 against Chase Heat.
