Hungary beats USA by 9-1 in Belleville, Canada proving too much of a challenge for Team USA at the 2016 WFC.
Hungary, having a world ranking of 8 turned out to be the toughest opponent for Team USA in the B-Division at the 2016 World Floorball Championships in Belleville, Canada. Considering that Team USA won against Austria earlier in the tournament in their first game by 5-2 and Hungary beating Austria by 12-0, there was no surprise that Hungary would turn out to be a formidable challenge.
The game was quite even during the first minutes and both teams had some opportunities to make goals. On the attacking side, there was no luck for USA but on the other hand, the USA goalie, Nora Aron, made several important saves to prevent Hungary from scoring. After eight minutes, Hungary managed to make the first goal. Hungary’s second goal was during power play. At 13:35, Andrea Kostal made a beautiful goal for USA assisted by Adelia Pennisi.
USA should be very proud of their development during the game. Period by period, the chemistry improved and during the last period of the game, there was floorball played at a similar level as the World’s Number 8.
