2014 ECSL CHAMPIONS
Congratulations to the Reach Rebels who defeated the Sting
4-0 on Saturday night in game three of the 2014 finals series.
The Rebels took control in the first period scoring 3 goals and
1 in the second stanza. Congratulations to Rebels goalie Rhett
Kelly who denied all 30 shots to record his first shut out for
the season..

ECSL Grand Final (Game Two)
Sunday night both the Rebels & Sting squared up for game 2.
The Sting got the early lead in the first stanza with Scott
Connelly scoring a short handed goal. The Rebels started the
second period strong outshooting the Sting 11-2 and scoring a
double. The Sting equalised 9 mins into the 3rd period
however 3 mins later Casey Kubara got the go-ahead goal for
the Rebels and would finish 3-2. Off to Game 3..

ECSL Grand Final (Game One)
ECSL Grand Final game one kicked off on Saturday night with
the Sting taking a two goal leade 15.27 into the second
period. The Rebels brought one back with 4.07 remaining in
the second and then tied it up with 43 seconds remaining in
the game. 3.18 into overtime #17 Lucian Hackett scored the
game winner to take game one fo the best of three series.

Reach Rebels def Sydney Heat 8-4 on aggregate.
Saturday night the Heat and Rebels battled out a 3-3 tie. On
Sunday the Rebels defeated the Heat 5-1 to move forward to
the grand final next weekend against the 2nd placed Sting.

Sting def Raptors 5-4 on aggregate.
Sunday night the Sting defeated the Raptors 3-2 in overtime
after coming from 2-0 down at the end of the 2nd period to
score the next 3 goals. The day before both teams held out to
a 2-2 tie resulting in the Sting moving forward to the grand
final next weekend.

Sunday night the Rebels & Raptors played at Penrith. The
Raptors tender Dale Burgess stood tall saving 34 of 36 shots
for the win.

Blueline Bombers & Penrith Raptors 6-6 Tie.
The Bombers and Raptors finished up 6 a piece on Saturday
night at Canterbury. Anthony Zakos finished the game with a
hat-trick.

Saturday night the Sting travelled up the M1 to play the North
Stars. They would finish battered and bruised but with the 2
points.
